WPL
Round
13 - Preston Lions
WFC vs.
South Melbourne
Friday
13 June
2008
Preston Lions Women's FC are after all the support
they can get this week as they take on the mighty
South Melbourne girls at BT Connor on Sunday.Preston Lionesses sit currently 4th on the WPL
table and securing points this week will only help
to establish the side as "Top Five" contenders.
As usual Senior
Coach Andy Fry has avoided any talk of Finals
Football and prefers to focus on the game ahead
but stated the following after a fantastic win at
Keilor on the weekend.
"My players have
worked tremendously hard and are playing some good
football but we still have along way to go, some
tough games and respect for every team we play. I
now have to consider what lies ahead and prepare
for whatever situation we find ourselves in. The
club, Victor and myself would dearly love to see
this group of players reach finals for the first
time and have worked hard for where we are now but
it's far too early to consider that".
Fry went on to say
"I'd like everyone involved with the club on
whatever scale as well as all our supporters to
turn out this Sunday and support the girls, it
would mean so much to them and might just get us
over the line against a well coached, in-form
South Melbourne side".
Food and drinks
available all day at the BT Connor Reserve
Canteen.
