Lionesses building towards 2009
(Players and Coach's)
Sunday 06 October
2008
The
Preston Lions Womens Football Club is currently
redeveloping their structure after
completing a successful season
in the Women's Premier League (WPL)
in season 2008.
The womens team of the Preston Lions
(the Lionesses) are the leading womens club in the
northern region of Melbourne. The club has just completed
their most successful season to date in the WPL, finishing
third, as well as playing up to the Preliminary Final of
the WPL (one step away from the Grand Final), only to be
knocked out in penalties.
Now with a
successful foundation the
Lionesses are
looking towards the future. The club
will strive to offer girls and
woman from all communities the opportunity to play
football in a safe, enjoyable and professional environment
as this allows them to develop to their full potential as
players and individuals.
The club will have a strong emphasis on
development of future players for the
Womens Premier League
competition. Currently the club
has a successful senior and
reserves squad.
In line with
the Preston Lions Football Club Strategic Plan, the club
is seeking expressions of interest for the following
positions:
SENIORS AND
RESERVE PLAYERS
Players with experience and talent to compete in the
senior and reserves WPL competition. Under the guidance of
2008 FFV award winning coaching staff (Andy Fry as Senior
Coach), combined with an
already strong list, players need to be ambitious with an
outlook to play finals football in 2009 for a big club,
with quality facilities for training and playing matches
at BT Connor Reserve (a ground with a quality surface,
used in the senior mens VPL competition, 1,000 seat grand
stand, and womens only change rooms).
JUNIOR
COACHES
Coaching
staff for junior (under 15's and under 16's) girls
development squads for 2009.
JUNIOR GIRLS
Players of
all ages for the junior developments squads.
