This weekend in the clubs final home
game of the season the Preston Lions Football
Club meet
Fawkner Blues
at B.T. Connor Reserve in Round 25 of the Foxtel Cup (VPL).
The Lions unbelievable run came to a crushing stop last
week after a tight 1-0 loss to the Melbourne Kights, which
means the Lions now sit just outside the six in seventh
spot, with only a poor goal difference denying Preston a
top six spot.
With Preston facing the third placed club Altona Magic
away at Paisley Park next week in the last match of the
home and away season, nothing less then a win is needed
today against the Blues.
Former Lions Pasi Schwalger and Ricky Chillico will face
their former club in a match where Fawkner will only play
for pride as their fate has been sealed and are destined
for relegation from the Foxtel Cup (VPL). Even though the
Blues are second last on the table, they are certainly not
to be under estimated, shown with their recent wins
against South Melbourne and last week against the A.I.S.
The club is asking for all the Lions supporters to turn
out in numbers for our last home game at BT Connor Reserve
and help support the clubs efforts in it's fight for a
finals spot.
We would like to remind all members and supporters of the
post-match celebration with all Preston Lions FC players
at the Preston Makedonia Social Club after our last match
of the home and away season at BT Connor Reserve.
