Cuculeski
takes the reins
Tuesday 01
June 2010
The Preston Lions Football Club has appointed former
championship player, Nick Cuculeski, as its senior coach
for the remainder of the 2010 season.
Cuculeski, who has been the club’s Under 21s coach since
2007, took charge of his first senior game two weeks ago
against Whittlesea and followed it up with a hard fought
nil-all draw last weekend away to Western Suburbs, earning
the Lions their first points of the year.
That
effort was all the more encouraging considering the team
was missing many first team regulars through injury
including captain Tony Sterjovski, Bale Micovski, and
former goalkeeper Damir Salcin who has transferred to VPL
club Bentleigh Greens.
With the
mid-season registration period opening next week,
Cuculeski will be looking to bolster his playing stocks
and guide the team away from the relegation zone.
This
weekend the Lions play Fawkner on Sunday 6th of June at BT
Connor Reserve (seniors kick-off 3pm). |
