Lions FC to play in MASO CUP in Sydney

The Preston Lions Football Club will
proudly participate in the MASO Cup Tournament in Sydney
during the Australia Day long weekend.
The Lions who
received an invitation to participate in this competition
from partner club Rockdale Ilinden City Suns Football Club
will play a number of matches against other Australian
clubs of Macedonian heritage on 25th and 26th January 2009
at Rockdale's home ground.
Preston Lions
are greatfull for the invitation from Rockdale Ilinden who
are celebrating their 40th year anniversary, providing a
great opportunity for Preston to continue to not only
represent the community within Victoria but Australia
wide, just like it did during the National Soccer League.
Preston Lions
coach John Markovski will use this tournament to prepare
for the upcoming Foxtel Cup competition where the coach
will be able to assess the current state of his squad
while its still in pre-season mode.
The club will
also play its annual traditional tournament in Geelong in
mid February. More details will be posted soon.
Supporters
will soon have the chance to buy their 2009 Preston Lions
memberships and become a part of history as the club
embarks on its 50th year anniversary.
