The Preston Lions Football Club will
begin its 50th Year Anniversary celebrations at home
against one of its old foes Melbourne Knights.
As the Football Federation Victoria
recently released the 2009 Foxtel Cup Fixture, the Lions
will battle against its former National Soccer League (NSL)
rivals in three out of the first four matches.
Traditional
football will be on show in Round 1 against Melbourne
Knights at the home of Preston, BT Connor Reserve. Round 2
will showcase the traditional derby against Altona Magic,
while Round 3 will see the massive derby againt old foes
South Melbourne at BT Connor Reserve, and Round 4 against
Green Gully Cavaliers also at BT Connor Reserve.
Other notable
matches at BT Connor Reserve in 2009 is the Round 8 clash
against traditional rival and newly promoted side Sunshine
George Cross, Round 10 clash with our rival neighbours
Heidelberg United, Round 13 against Altona Magic, and the
Round 20 clash against the other newly promoted side
Dandenong Thunder.
