Expressions of Interest - Players and Coach's for 2011
Preparations will soon begin for the 2011 season. The Preston Lions Football Club is seeking expressions of interest for players (boys and girls) and coach's in all age groups (SSF to U18).

The Preston Lions Football Club is committed to developing and nurturing young football players, both boys and girls and provide them with a clear path way to its Senior Mens and Womens teams.

Players such as former A-League star with Queensland Roar and Adelaide United Sasa Ognenovski, Melbourne Victory midfielder and Young Socceroo Blagoja (Billy) Celeski, Melbourne Victory Youth Captain in 2008-09 Mathew Theodore, and former Bristol City Academy squad member Robert Stambolizev have all gone through the junior ranks at the club.

The clubs Senior Mens team competed in the National Soccer League from 1981 to 1993 and has been Champions of Victoria for a total of four times (1980, 1994, 2002, 2007) in Victoria's highest competition, the Victorian Premier League (VPL). The club is rebuilding in 2011 in State League Division One and as always will look at its development squad, the Under 21's for any future stars. The club is committed to providing a pathway for any aspiring young player to make the step from juniors to its Under 21's development squad.

The clubs Senior Womens team competes in State League Division One. Preston Lions is seeking to build its junior ranks with more girl teams and is able to provide a pathway to its elite Seniors and Reserves teams.

The club requires a highly qualified coach's with an understanding of the FFA National Curriculum and how to apply it, strong verbal and written communication skills, strong organisational skills, well developed interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a team environment, leadership and mentoring qualities and experience.

In addition to the abilities and attitudes above, candidates must have a satisfactory "Working With Children Check", and any other certificates which includes a current first aid certificate will be favourable.

The juniors train and play its home matches at  B.T. Connor Reserve (Melway 18-B2) with its Senior Mens and Womens teams based just next door.

Details of pre-season training and other details including application forms will be released soon, however we encourage you to submit your details below and a club representative will contact you once everything is finalised.
