Preston Lions JFC at the 2008 Fawkner Cup

The Preston
Lions Junior Football Club recently participated in the
2008 Fawkner Cup. After a long 2008 season in their
respective junior competitions, the Lions young "Cubs"
were hungry to finish the year in style, and they did not
disappoint.
The clubs two
Under 9 squads progressed through to the second round but
did not make the semi-finals. They did extremely well
considering certain circumstances.
The Under 10's squad finished on top of the group stage
and went on to win the cup. Congratulations!
The Under 12's squad progressed through the group stage
and finished runners up.
The Under 15's Super League squad finished on top of the
group stage and went on to win the cup. Congratulations!
The Under 16's Super League squad progressed through the
group stage and finished runners up.
Congratulations and well done to all the Preston Lions
players for their achievements in this tournament, and as
well as to the parents for of the young "Cubs" at our club
for their continued support of their children in the 2008
season.
The club is
now in its "summer break", however the committee is
already preparing plans for season 2009 to continue to
provide players a club with a successful environment that
will enable players to progress from juniors to the Lions
Under 21's development squad, and then to the seniors to
represent the Preston Lions Football Club in the highest
competition in the state, the Victorian Premier League (Foxtel
Cup).
