Preston
Lions Football Club have actively supported various
charities and other goodwill events throughout the
years.
To request the support of the Preston Lions Football
Club for memorabilia to be donated at your charity or
social event, please contact the Lions office at:
Preston.Lions.FC@gmail.com
Memorabilia requests must be received at least four
weeks prior to the engagement.
All memorabilia requests must be submitted on
letterhead and should document the background of your
organisation, the reasoning behind your request and
appropriate contact information.
While every request will be considered, we are not in

STRENGTHENING MULTICULTURAL COMMUNITIES THROUGH
SOCCER 2006 |
|
|
|

Strengthening Multicultural Communities Through Soccer
Participation Project was a project through a joint
partnership between Preston Lions Football Club,
Football Federation Victoria, City of Darebin,
Northern Migrant Resource Centre, Victorian
Multicultural Commission, and the Sudanese Community.
The project linked young soccer players from the
Sudanese Community within the City of Darebin with
Preston Lions. The club, in co-operation with the City
of Darebin, adopted the Sudanese Community for the
2006 soccer season and assisted in providing access to
training facilities in Reservoir and participation in
a weekly competition.
Two teams were established, an under 18 team and a
men’s thirds team in the Victorian Football Federation
competition. The project gave the Sudanese Community
an insight into what’s involved in running a soccer
club as well as opportunities for thirty five
participants to learn about playing in a formal
competition. |
